Shri Krishana Overseas Ltd (SKL), a family-owned Kenyan manufacturer of packaging materials, has listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). The company listed 50.5 million ordinary shares by introduction, with 8.7 million shares immediately available for trading at 5 shillings and 90 cents.
This move highlights a growing trend among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to leverage public markets for expansion, long-term sustainability, and visibility.
The NSE has recently implemented new regulations, effective since November last year, to reduce barriers to entry and make it easier for SMEs and family-owned businesses to list on the exchange.
The listing ceremony was attended by key officials from the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Nairobi Securities Exchange, and KenInvest, marking a significant milestone for Kenya's packaging industry.
